In 1 week...

In one week i will be in california with my family, for my sisters wedding.  i.cannot.believe.it.  my little rachel is getting married.  i wanted to dedicate a special post to rachel because ive been thinking about her so much and this huge step she is taking in her life

rachel and i are 2.5 years apart.  my mom always dressed us in the same clothes and for a long time people thought we were twins, she was a little chunky baby.  we played dress up, dolls, made mud pies, went to the park, swam...we did EVERYTHING together growing up.  and she was the perfect younger sister.  she always let me boss her around and was always the peacemaker.  we have home videos of her when she was just a couple days old and i was pinching her ears and she would just look at me...no crying, nothing.  she still has a flat spot on the top of her ear from me pinching it all the time.

i could go on all day about stories of rachel and i...but i just want to share one today since it pertains to her life right now.  a little over a year ago i was talking to rachel on the phone (we talk almost every day) and she said he had met this guy on the football team.  and he was really cute.  she said that she was going to go on a double date with him and she was super excited because she had been eying him since freshman year...4 years ago...so she went on this double date, they went to cafe rio and watched a movie at a friends house (typical provo date) :) and she called me after with the details.  in so many words she said, becca...this guy is so cute.  but i dont think he really likes me...he sat on the opposite side of me during the movie and hardly talked to me during dinner.  well a couple weeks later i was in town for Y Awards (she was nominated) and i was introduced to this man in her life that was taking her out on occasional dates but not showing much interest.  and immediately i knew there was something different about this one.  he seemed to bring out the best in my sister, she was happy and not afraid to get in a relationship (like so many times before).  and this is the guy she is marrying next week for time and all eternity.

Kaneakua, i know you are going to take care of sister through good times and bad.  i trust you with my best friend, my first sister, the one that has always been there for me, my little chow chow who has matured into such a beautiful woman.  i am so excited to have you as part of our family!  my family is the most important thing to me.  and im so glad you found my sister and you two will be sealed next week.  Thank you for letting me be a part of such a special day and letting me a sister and future aunt.  i love you two with all i have.  and isaac, ezra and i would do anything and everything for you guys!  LOVE YOU!!!

Foodie.

A couple free minutes to blog...until Ezra starts wanting my attention. This could mean either a really long post a short one just depending his attention span at the moment :) At Ezras 4 month appointment the Dr said we should start him on rice cereal and fruits and veggies! This was a surprise since i thought babies were supposed to wait till 6 months. Well i guess since hes our little chunky monkey he needed more nutrients than what mothers milk was giving him...so this past week we tried rice cereal for the first time. and...he LOVED it! he was very confused at first but after a couple of bites he wanted more! well...last night we tried carrots for the first time. and he loved that even more! so much that this morning he did not want to eat his rice cereal.
so on top of loving food, he also loves watching me cook in the kitchen. he will sit in his carseat like a good little boy and watch me cook. i love him. he also a daddys boy. he loves watching UFC fights with daddy. this is a picture of ezra cuddling up to isaac watching fights.
and hes a pretty good boy at church. i just lay a blanket down with some toys and he entertains himself. i do have to go do the normal feeding and changing but other than that he is super content. and let me tell you...the mothers room in our NC ward...amazing! they have all sizes of diapers, formula, rice cereals, a tv, you can hear the speakers...our mothers room back home is nothing like this!
annnndddd...my little boy has the grant sweating gene. which basically means he sweats ALL THE TIME! he gets over heated very easily, so i gave him a little sippy cup of cold water to hold and he loves it. keeps him cooled down.
oh yes and i cannot forget to mention my dear husband. isaac has been working so hard this summer! he was already the top rep last week in the whole company! and right now i think hes 2nd overall in the whole company! go baby! i'm so proud of him and all the hard work he puts into our family and his job! i couldn't ask for a better husband.

Chaos

Chaos would definitely be the word to describe the last 3 weeks. Filled with moving, traveling from california to utah to north carolina, graduations, wedding planning, throwing up, crying (both ezra and i), and lack of sleep...so for right now i will just post a picture of our little man until i get the energy to do a real post :)
